For the second time in two years, the National Hot Rod Association has lost one of its top stars. Scott Kalitta died from injuries he received after a crash on Saturday.
Kalitta was 46-years-old, a husband and father and one hell of a drag racer.
I know everyone whom he was close to will miss him and I know those people who fans of the NHRA never wanted to deal with this type of tragic news again. Last year, it was Erick Medlin — now Kalitta.
Let's all stop and say a prayer for his family and the entire racing community — worldwide — because it's times likes these when you realize that the sport you love comes with extreme risks.
